DREAM: Kick off meeting

The kick-off meeting of the DREAM project was held in Nantes, France, on 25 and 26 May 2009. The meeting was organised by INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique) and INRA Transfert, and hosted by the Cité des Congrès.
Between 50 and 60 participants attended the two days of the meeting. The meeting opened on 25 May in the morning with the first Executive Committee meeting. In the afternoon, the participants attended the plenary session.The second day, in the morning on 26 May, different workshop sessions were organised. The objectives of these workshops were to present the contents of each workpackage, the tasks and discuss their implementation. Then, a plenary session was organised to present and to finalise some decisions. The project was officially launched in the afternoon with the participation of Jean-François Thibault, the head of the INRA Angers-Nantes Centre, Monique Axelos from INRA, the DREAM Coordinator, Xavier Leverve, the Head of the INRA’s Human Nutrition and Food Safety Scientific Direction, Yannick Guin, the Vice-President of Nantes Metropolis, Christophe Clergeau, 1st Vice-President of the Education Commission, Higher Education of the Regional Council Pays de la Loire, Daniel Richard-Molard, Representative at the General Direction of the Research and Innovation, Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
The main objectives of the kick-off meeting were to launch officially the DREAM project, bring together all the partners and discuss the first steps of the project.
